Welcome to my Adventures in Odyssey blog!

Around here, I post random thoughts, observations, and facts about the show. Those, and the Opening Clip Sequences, some seriously weird and fantastical fan theories, and bits of fanfictions I’ve been writing for the show (including AUs and crossovers).

Now, some AIO fans are obsessed with Richard Maxwell, and some are obsessed with Eugene Meltsner. A few are obsessed with shipping. Me, I absolutely love Bernard Walton.

I mean, curmudgeons in general are some of my favourite character types anyway, and there’s no doubt that, along with Puddleglum, Bernard is just about the best of curmudgeons.

But he’s also so funny and natural, and a great storyteller, and there’s this side of him I can’t even explain except to say listen to Suspicious Minds. He’s often a real voice of common sense though, too, even for Whit sometimes! Plus, he can be an absolute hero sometimes—I think of him taking charge in Six on the Richter Scale (and yes, I refuse to call Part 2 anything else)—and he really connects with kids, even if he doesn’t seem to get them all the time. But one of my most favourite things is when it shines through that he really does care about his cousin, even if they drive each other crazy from time to time… to time.

BASICALLY, he’s the best ever.  <3

Also, the term “GOBOP,” coined by my dad, stands for the “Good Old Boys Odyssey Patriarchy,” coined by Margaret Faye. I think of it as Whit, Tom, Bernard, and Jack, with Jason holding an honorary position: the “Good Old Boys” of Odyssey. And, despite any and all feminism, I’m definitely a fan of that.

(I also have the same stuff on Tumblr, so go check that out if you want.)

A pretty good song to start off this series, huh? I mean, it’s literally called “ The Great Adventure .” Adventures in Odyssey, you know? ...
